Studio 26 design brief was to create the Landscape Plan for development approval. The landscape design intent is to underpin several design principles that promote legibility, walkability and high-quality outdoor spaces for the residents and visitors of Elermore Vale Childcare Centre.

Elermore Vale Childcare and Medical Centre is located within the Newcastle Local Government Area. The site is located approximately 20 minutes drive from Newcastle city centre and is in close proximity to Elermore Vale Public School.
Key to this was creating a landscape for the childcare that is vibrant and engaging for various age groups. The design will promote the social, physical, intellectual, creative, cultural, and emotional development of the children within the built and natural environment. Studio 26 understands that vibrant playspaces can assist in developing fine and gross motor skills for children who attend the childcare centre. Essentially play develops problem-solving skills through critical thinking and spatial awareness of one’s body by moving throughout an environment
